Youth Lost

The old lady stared at the little child, gleefully waving his toy in one hand, the other in his mouth, digging out the remnants of lunch. She appear lost in thought, as though duelling with the devil in her head.

Her attention turned to a teenager on the pavement. The fire in her eyes disappeared, lost in the abyss of time.

Where had her youth gone? It seemed as though it was yesterday that she was basking in juvenile glory. And now all that remained was the emptiness of age.

Live not for the moment, it passes too quickly. Live for yourself, and it will last a lifetime.

Pessmism

Pessimism is conceptual. Reality is factual. What rules in the world of belief, may whither in our blazing sun.

What is real, what is not, I can no longer differentiate. But one rule that will stay with me, prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

Faith

It's scary, the face of the love, always looking pretty and poised, but cunning and deceiving beneath. Everlasting is no more, and in its place, frivolous conduct is ruling supreme.

Friends have experienced it, the saddening lack of faithfulness. Cheating on more accounts, and the blatant admittance to them, without a tinge of remorse or shame. The papers broadcast it, with divorce rates up due to deceitfulness. And some even glorify it, going to the extent of saying, "I cheated on my spouse, so what. Everyone's doing it nowadays." It has happened to me before, once upon a time. But the details are forgettable.

When all else fails, have faith. But when faith turns its back on you, where do you go?
